IT Infrastructure

IT Infrastructure is the foundation of every application in use today.  Although a lot of the infrastructure is shifting to the cloud, knowing it is still a very valuable skill set.  Firewalls, proxies, servers, workstations, datacenters, and databases are all considered IT infrastructure and at ITDIGILIT we teach it all.

Cyber Security

Cybersecurity professionals are in demand. According to a study by the cybersecurity professional organization (ISC)², there are some 3.1 million unfilled positions worldwide. Cybersecurity jobs take an average of 20 percent longer to fill than other IT jobs. They also pay 16 percent more on average, according to data from Burning Glass Technologies.

DevSecOps

Positioned squarely at the intersection of application development, security and IT operations, a DevSecOps Engineer ensures that security and compliance are considered, coded and tested at each step of development, testing and software delivery. In the Dallas metroplex where there is a significant shortage of DevSecOps engineers, LaborIQ recommends a competitive base salary of $126,206, slightly higher than the national recommended base salary and 2.8% higher than the national median salary (half of salaries are higher and half lower).

Project Management

According to the Job Growth and Talent Gap report from PMI, employers will need to fill some 2.2 million new project management-oriented roles each year through 2027 [2]. Job seekers with a combination of leadership and technical skills will find themselves in demand in the coming years.

Data Science

Demand is high for data professionals—data scientists and mathematical science occupations are expected to grow by 31 percent, and statisticians by 35 percent from 2019 to 2029, says the US Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) [2]. That’s much faster than the average growth rate for all jobs, which sits at 3.7 percent. The high demand has been linked to the rise of big data and its increasing importance to businesses and other organizations.

Cryptocurrency

According to a new Indeed report, searches for careers in cryptocurrency and blockchain (the technology which supports it) have spiked, and postings for careers in the field have jumped by 118 percent as of July 2021, compared with the previous year.
